One idea I have is a project on where students live after their freshmen year, when they are required to live in the dorms. Do they live in a house, apartment, fraternity/sorority, university housing, etc.? I’d like to see what are the biggest factors students consider when choosing where to live after freshmen year, such as cost, proximity to campus, etc.
I think a project on the transition from a freshmen meal plan to not having any sort of meal plan would also be interesting. How often does a person eat out, or do they prefer to buy groceries? I’d like to see what sort of budgeting students use now that they no longer have a meal plan.
Another possible project would be one about the gameday environment, although this would be very time sensitive because it could only be done at certain times. It would be interesting to profile some of the tailgaters and what they go through to get everything set up. Are there certain things that are must-haves, like hot dogs or a tent? How early does one claim their land? Video of the saturday morning setup or still shots of the final product would work well.
